I imagine this world upside down.

Where all the frowns are smiling,

And shouting is laughter,

And rain is the only disaster.

I imagine this world upside down.

Where the pyramid flops over and the point is what’s deep.

In this dream, the only scheme is discovery.

And so, out of Pangea is

the bottom of Lake Michigan, a dead sea,

molten lava, Bermuda’s triangle, oil and even Mount Kilimanjaro.

All of these things  – not “things”…

Most meaning EVERYthing,

Liquid, melting, changing.

I imagine this world upside down.

Where love is worth millions and money is cheap.

Where trees grow dough and maps only show how dots connect us, not walls or roads.

I imagine this world upside down.

Where war is nothing more than dinosaurs to the living,

Where every single fish is freely swimming,

And every song is like wind chimes singing, and every light is bright like Jupiter.

I imagine this world upside down.

It is round and could sound how sea hits the shore when the moon is full at night.

Where rhythm and harmony are abundant,

in the towns,

All around

this world, I imagine –

Where north is south and east is west and the waves have the same beat as this organ in my chest that never rests.

And it’s steady as it grows, and pumps from my head to my toes.

I imagine this world upside down.

A yesterday and tomorrow that are ancient.

The geography of my body is the earth’s cemetery.

History repeating itself.

I imagine this world where I isn’t me, or you or he or she but only “we.”
