this one’s for the water (cuz we’re all made mostly of it)

Dear people with cell phones,
I’m kinda over your dial tones.
I was sitting, sipping, drinking water thinking – it’s a shame,
our sinks are leaking.

Fish swim blue waters every day
It makes no sense that they should pay
When all they do is swim and play
In tanks, streams, river banks, lakes.
I’m from that great lakes state.

This state I’m in, this state of mind of
water and land and freedom of man slowly begins
to dissipate.

Each day mercury and lead,
Acid batteries completely dead
deeper CREEPERS in our watershed.
Thoughts of water linger /in/ /my/ /head///

So is it fair that chemicals for corporations, in OTHER nations,
create complete devastation to OUR population?
Ha, nooo.

So tell me do we REALLY need more trash?
All these economies do is crash!
This is democracy, That’s what they say…
Tomorrow *might* be a better day.
((Depends who pays.))

Apologies PLEASE
But I want purity
Land I walk and air I breathe
And water – to keep moving me.

Lately this makes me want to shout…
But what is it we’re not apathetic about?

It’s politics polluting our minds
Like factories it is a crime
I want peace! in the middle east!
And rights for native species!

**** **** **** ****

These battles bombard people
And people perpetuate people
And population and consumption
Are only dysfunc//tion.

Survival skills
Or business bills?
Battles waged
Or water saved?
Plausible peace
And people, prejudiced,
people, DEVELOPED? //
people, please.

We pour fossil fuels
Into toys and tools
There’s Pentiums or uranium…
& we know of resources
But NOT bottled water corpses.

The ones who sit on lakes, skip rocks –
But there’s NO respect it’s SUCH a crock.
So many of us only see
Our holy land become debris
These managements do NOT foresee
how we feel ONE with all these trees…

This is a crisis! of continuity
Careless! in lands of ingenuity.
I see how this brings poverty,
So little compassion & energy,
is this equality or pity?

You know, mostly water fills me up,
but when it runs out will we even need cups?

If the constitution can’t protect fish,
Should I dare ask any greater wish?

we have departments of environmental quality
natural resources and protection.. nature…
is now just jargon of elections.

Participate perpetuate procreate recreate (do it again)
if this didn’t work before, do we REALLY think it can?
I am connected to everything
the ecosystem, the wind the rain,
the rivers and all this land to reclaim…
we’re all together, we’ll all the same.

So we kept saying “OH YES WE CAN”
But I say rise, make some DEMANDS.
I’m tired of the way the MAN treats land
it’s not okay, let’s make fists with OUR hands.

Whatever happened to leaders & voices?
It’s time that WE make real choices

So rise like waves just shout & ROAR
freedom should mean so much more (come on get up off that dance floor)
The future’s now– NO time to waste
Let’s make a goal and change our PACE.
Don’t move slow, let’s run this show.
We’ve got the flow, it’s time! let’s GO!
